There are many fun things happening in and around Houston this weekend! Below are some of Real Living Karapasha Realty’s top events!

Friday, August 14

Dancing Under the Stars

Those of you looking to dance the night away are in luck! The Town Square Plaza in Sugar Land will play host to this free event that is all about cutting loose, and a rug, with friends and family. Instructors from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio will be on hand to help move your feet! If you are looking for a fun and family oriented way to kick off your weekend, then this is the place to be. This event kicks off at 7:30 PM

End of the Summer Tailgate

The end of summer and the start of a new school year is right around the corner! It is time to send the summer off in style and there is no better way to do that than attending the end of summer tailgate in old Katy! The event will take place from 4:00 to 10:00 PM on 1st street in historic Katy. There will be live music, a hot wing cook-off contest, local vendors, and a “Taste of Katy” completion between local restaurants. Entry fees include school supplies or a backpack!

Saturday, August 15

Grease Sing-A-Long

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion has you covered if you are looking for family fun this Saturday night. They will be screening the classic movie “Grease” for sing-a-long. Leave your shyness at home because this is a “full audience participation required” event! Round up the kids, get your vocal warm ups in, and get to Cynthia Woods when doors open at 6:30 PM! The movie starts at 8:00 PM, covered seating starts at $10 and law tickets are going for $5.

Mixers & Elixirs at HMNS

The Houston Museum of Natural Science will play host to this nighttime party. This adult orientated event will include a live band, cash bar, and some of Houston’s favorite food trucks! Additionally, all of the museum’s standard exhibitions will be open for viewing. This event will start at 7:00 PM and will conclude at 10:00 PM. Tickets are $20!

Sunday, August 14 

Family Zone at MFAH

Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts wants to encourage all families to come out this Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM for free fun! The current Habsburg Splendor exhibition will be open for viewing in addition to stations where children can make their own pieces of art! This month there will be galleries that focus on the art of movement and several well know artists’ interpretations of travel.


Dashavatar at Miller Outdoor Theater will take audiences through a cultural journey! It will be an evening filled with a breathtaking performance that will depict Indian mythology through the use of dance, theater, music, lighting, music, and even martial arts. The combination of ancient traditions and state of the art technology make for a must see show! This event will begin at 8 PM and is completely free!
