Houston International Jazz Festival Kickoff

This weekend will play host to the Houston International Jazz Festival, but before the festival proper begins on Saturday there will be a kickoff party Friday night at World Entertainment Complex in downtown. There will be live music, food trucks, local vendors, and more! Feel free to bring your lawn chairs and blankets as you enjoy all the great entertainment in the great outdoors! The party starts at 6:00 and goes on until midnight. Tickets range from $20 to $70.

Idina Menzel Live at Cynthia Woods

Tony award winning singer and actress, Idina Menzel, has the Houston stop of her tour this Friday! Menzel is most recently known for her voice work in the hit movie “Frozen” as the popular character, Elsa. Her body of work also includes Broadway hits such as “Rent” and “Wicked”. This is surely to be a one of a kind concert that you won’t want to miss! The show starts at 8 PM with tickets ranging from $71-$91.

Houston Symphony presents “Back to the Future”

Jones Hall will play host to Houston Symphony’s viewing of the classic movie, “Back to the Future”. This is way more than just your average movie screening as the Houston Symphony will be providing the live soundtrack, completely in sync, to the film! That means you get to catch a great movie and musical performance all at once! The screening will begin at 7:30 PM and tickets range from $29 to $120!

White Linen Night in the Heights

This annual event in one of Houston’s most historic sections is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated of the year. Attendees are encouraged to dress in white as they walk around enjoying great food, drink, music and more! The action will span across 19th street, Studewood, White Oak, and Heights Boulevard. Amongst all the fun to participate in there will be a special edition of the First Saturday Arts Market and a free show at the legendary Fitzgerald’s! This event is free to attend and will kick off at 6 PM. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Bayou Bikers Monthly Bike Ride

What better way to start your Sunday than with a bike ride around Houston’s waterways? The ride is open to all and participants will meet at Market Square Park at 8:00 AM. The ride will range from 25 to 40 miles, depending on your desired level of participation, and serves to inform Houstonians and visitors of the city’s beautiful bayous and other waterways. Mountain bikes or bikes with fat tires are required.

Houston Latin Fest

This family friendly festival celebrates all things Latin! Come to Jones Plaza this Sunday to enjoy traditional Latin food, drink, and music! Acts representing the sounds of Mexico, Brazil, Cuba, Bolivia, Venezuela, and more are ready to entertain all guests in attendance! The event will last all day Sunday and tickets are $15 each.
